We've been working this weekend on pulling up the carpet and stripping wall paper in the upstairs of our new home. On one section of the wall in the landing area, I removed one layer of wall paper to find this yellow daisy paper ... started scraping it to find this vintage car wall paper.
I also discovered this vintage (probably repo) contact paper in the kitchen drawers.
Here is a peek at two of the things that are treasure to me ... this window seat (of course I'll be making a new pad!) ... and the solid wood doors with the old hardware still on them!
Below is Nathan and Matt working on the floor in soon to be Grace's room ... when we pulled up the carpet last night, we were surprised to find the original hard wood floors underneath.
Tomorrow is our Sabbath so there will be no working at the house ... work to resume Monday evening!

wow and yay! how fun this is to watch you work :) - i love the old door knobs and the stained woodwork. It sounds like the hardest part is going to be to decide which 'farmhouse' things to keep and which to modernize!
boyertownMaybe you will not need to do hard wood floors. Maybe you will just need to refinish the old ones once you get all the carpet up. Good luck. Keep the pictures coming. I can't wait till Thanksgiving to see it.
