Civil War Reenactment

Over Labor Day weekend, there was a Civil War Reenactment in Meadville.  We spent Saturday at it as a family and loved it!!  History is so cool especially when it comes alive!!

We were given a complete lesson on cleaning, preparing and firing a cannon ... and even watched a cannon be shot.  Can you guess what Nathan and Grace are making out of mud and shooting now?

Grace watching a woman make lace!
(below) Nathan and Grace watching a young lady spin wool.

A visit from Abe!

Grace and I both were amazed at the hand cranked sewing machine!

They had children's games from this era for the kids to play.

And we watched the blacksmith make a pan.
At the end, we came to a soldier who was playing his fiddle during down time.
Grace asked Matt to dance with her ... he did in front of many people ... good job daddy!
