Cherokee were known for thier beutiful baskets

Souix Indians from the Great Plains
Buffalo hunters who used EVERY part of the buffalo including the ribs for a sled
used symbols to write stories of their lives on buffalo skin

Pueblo Indians lived in the SW
Cliff Dwellers ... never moved, farmers
were known for weaving beautiful rugs

Indians of the Northwest Coast ... very different from all other Indians
each family had a totem pole outside their home telling the story of their family

We had homeschool friends visit our museum yesterday morning.  And family and friends visited last night.  Nathan and Grace gave tours and told all about what they learned and showed what they made.
What a great way to wrap up our study on "the First Americans".
Thanks for visiting!
