We led a Pizza and Game night at church for this month's Family Night activity. It was fun to join with other families who share our enjoyment in playing games together!
The kids and I spent a day with my mom visiting older relatives ...my gramma's sister and husband then my grampa's sister and husband. We learned some new things to add to our genealogy notes. But most of all, we were a blessing to this older generation by just taking time to visit. I feel like this is such a great skill for Nathan and Grace to learn!
We celebrated Matt's birthday with his favorite meals and spent the day together at the bear weigh in station checking out the bears that hunters brought in to be tagged on this first day of bear season. We saw 25 bear in 2 1/2 hrs.
For my mom's birthday, we secretly arranged for her three brothers and their wives to meet us for breakfast at a nearby restaurant. She was blessed with this time with her brothers.
The first day of deer rifle season got moved up this year. So my boys headed out the Saturday after Thanksgiving ... and Grace and I started working on Christmas gifts and watching Christmas movies even though it was the last day of November.
Our tradition of spending 3-4 days with Camp Judson friends over Thanksgiving has changed ... this year, we had a small Thanksgiving meal just us four at home around noon ...then we went to serve at a Community Thanksgiving dinner here in Titusville ...what a blessing to serve together! World Geography highlight ...we are learning about missionaries that have gone to share God's Word in the area of the world we are studying for our Bible lessons by listening to Christian Heroes audiobooks and discussing what we can learn from that missionary. In addition to this, the kids picked a missionary to read about, do a missionary report and presentation this month. Nathan chose David Livingstone and Grace picked Amy Carmichael. I'll end with quotes that the kids chose for their reports from each missionary.
