Today was our first day of home visits ... and let me tell you, this was my favorite part of the trip!
Our first stop was to the home of Gianpier ... the little boy below sitting with his mom.
Home visits were so much more personal and a deeper look into the world of these beautiful people.
The largest home we were in was about the size of my living room ... read that again!!
The smallest home we visited was the size of my bathroom
with a shared restroom at the end of the walkway.

At each home, sweet Lilliana shared with the parents about the wheelchair.
Then Dave (pictured below) or Matt lifted the child tenderly placing them in their new wheelchair.
Watching this action brought tears to my eyes!
While the child was being fitted, another member of our team shared the
Gospel with the family and we blessed them with gifts.

Nathan is playing "cars" with Gianpier running a matchbox car on his leg making car noises
as only boys can do ... bringing a giggle to Gianpier.

Shauna (pictured above) had been saving a stuffed dog she'd brought for the perfect person ...
and Gianpier was the one. As you can see ... he loved it!!

While at the homes, we also ministered to the neighbors who would come out to see what
was going on. Nathan and Grace loved handing out lollypops and gum to people!

This second home is a visit I'll never forget ... watching Matt lift sweet Allison out of her "stroller" where she laid on her back and tenderly placing her in her new wheelchair where she could now see the world ... and her huge smile showed her delight!
I got to share the Gospel with Allison's mom and was blessed by her faith. She told me that
she had been waiting for this miracle for 2 years and that she'll never forget this day! Me either.

This last home for today was small so the kids and I stayed in the skinny walkway between brick walls and played with these neighbor children you see above and below. It was so much fun!!

And here is Mihiel ... my favorite part of this visit was after everything was done (the explaining, the fitting, the sharing etc.) ... Mihiel sat in his wheelchair clapping his hands saying "vamos" which meants "let's go!" ... so Matt took him for a little ride down the walkway and back. I'm not sure whose grin was bigger ... Matt or Mihiel. Then they played frisbee together (last picture).
