We began learning about Lewis and Clark plus
Sacagawea last week. We made
"explorer journals" ... the kids packed
backpacks with water and homemade granola
bars ... and off they went into our woods
and through our creek!
They spent hours exploring and recording
what they saw or found.
The many loads of muddy clothes I had
to wash last week testify to their fun!
Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny, warm
Sunday afternoon ... so, as a family, we went
for a long walk through our woods
enjoying the day, nature and each other!
Matt (our scientist) is helping the kids recognize
scat, tracks and signs of activity (such as scratching, rubs etc).
But best of all ... they are learning to learn and love it!
