Two weeks ago, we were blessed to spend our Saturday morning
with an Amish family in our area. We helped collect
the sap from their maple trees ... load it into a large
container on the cart pulled by their horses ... empty that into
a large holding tank ... and then spend time in the sugar
shack as the sap cooked down.
We went home with 5 gallons of syrup ... only 2 are
for us to can up and use! YUM!
(notice the Amish family are not in the photos above ...
they don't believe in photographs so I respected that)
