August JOYs

The kids saved again this year, asking Gramma Colwell for camp money as their Christmas gift!
And they enjoyed another year at Miracle Mountain Ranch for a week!

We had fun at a Kirik (my mom's family) cookout
at my Uncle George's pond!

Our two peach trees had a whole bushel of sweet,
juicy peaches!!
This is the first time we've gotten peaches
from them. YUM!!

A family trip to the Little League World series to end
our summer!

Nathan was routing for Japan! Can you tell?

Grace and I put on tattoos for the Hawaiian team
because that's who she picked to route for...
and they won it all!

We planted milkweed a few years ago in
our pasture area.
The patch has really grown and is full
of caterpillars this year.
I've lost count of how many we've
brought in to raise in our butterfly house
and release!
(Side note ...we have named each one after
a character in the last book of the
Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series
which we howled about this summer!)

And then summer life comes to a stop ...
and the school routine is welcomed back to our home!
Here are my 7th and 5th graders starting a new
year of homeschooling.
