Welcome November!
Even though we had unseasonably warm and nice
weather at the beginning of November, Grace
was itching to get out the PUZZLE TABLE.
This girl loves doing puzzles and is good!!
Nathan wanted to try archery hunting this year.
So pre-season, he and Matt put up a tree stand and Nathan
practiced shooting almost daily.
He has seen some pretty cool things while sitting
in the woods like an owl fly over him, but
didn't get a deer. He still loved it!
Did any of you get to see the Lunar Eclipse on Nov. 8th?
We did. Click here to see it if you missed it.
Below is a picture of the tiny sliver of the moon right
before the total eclipse. And yes, we were crazy enough to be
outside all bundled up standing in the middle of our
road at 5am to see this amazing event!
Grace had a 10 day babysitting job ...7 chicks!
Matt's cousin and girlfriend, Flora, had just
hatched 7 eggs from their own chickens ...
then needed to make a trip to FL to help
Gramma move back to PA. So Grace and I
offered to take care of the chicks while they
were gone. This is Grace's kind of babysitting!
We celebrated Matt's birthday by spending the
afternoon at the Bear Weigh-in Station
on the first day of bear hunting season...
then we enjoyed a special meal together!
We gave him feed corn for his wildlife feeder
and a new mineral salt lick.
But we have to wait until after deer season to put it out.
As I mentioned earlier, Matt's gramma moved back
to PA to live with her daughter, Aunt Kathy.
So we got to spend Thanksgiving Day with gramma,
Billy and Flora!
Speaking of deer season ...
here are my two hunters on the first day
of deer rifle season!
After last year's battle with covid
and the boys missing hunting season,
I was so happy to have two healthy boys
headed out to hunt....even if they didn't shoot anything
that first day!
I have many times wished there was more
space between Thanksgiving and Christmas
so each could be fully embraced and not
smashed together. But then I read how
Thanksgiving is perfectly placed right
before Advent so we can
"enter His gates with Thanksgiving".
So lets enter into Jesus' presence with grateful hearts!
