I love making homemade pies ... the crust is my favorite part to make. My gramma taught me how to roll out the crust just right and how to pinch the edges to finish off the crust. I still use her recipe for pie crust ... but have had to substitute crisco for lard over the years. But no substitution this Thanksgiving ... I used lard from the pig we had butchered this fall ... and the crust was yummy!
