Since our plane arrived so late and we didn't get to our hotel until 5am,
we slept for a couple hours and then started our day around 12 noon.
Today our goal was to get the wheelchairs from the warehouse to
the community center where we'd be putting them together.

Camino de Vida (the church we worked with in Peru) regularly gives out wheelchairs so they get a whole shipping crate delivered at a time and keep the wheelchairs in this warehouse. Look at all those wheelchairs (pictures above). We loaded 100 of them onto a truck.

Even Nathan and Grace helped load the boxes ...
Grace is helping Linda, our FWM leader from Pittsburgh.

Then we drove to the community center where we would put the wheelchairs together
and distribute them over the next couple of days.
The kids "helped" Matt carry one of his two boxes.
Below is Ben carrying a box ... he is one of the two boys from the second family that went.

This community center had an open air courtyard area ...
(everywhere had open air areas b/c it never rains or snows in Lima)
...when we got there, children had just finished dance lessons.
Nathan and Grace were quick to make friends with this last family to leave the dance lessons
and I was able to talk with the mom.

That night, we were treated to dinner at a Peruvian restaurant. Our leader from Camino de Vida, Nick,
ordered a variety of traditional meals and we ate family style so we could try everything.
Nathan and Grace loved it and ate right up ... in fact, they didn't balk at any of the food
we were served while in Peru. Matt and I enjoyed it all too!!
